Slow Cooker Barbecue Beef
A real crowd pleaser. Great served up on onion buns with a side of slaw and some corn on the cob.
Slow Cooker Barbecue Beef
Ingredients
2 pounds beef chuck roast or round steak, cut crosswise into 1/4 inch slices
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 cups catsup
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauceDirections
Combine all ingredients in a slow cooker or crock-pot; mix well. Cover and cook on low setting for 6 to 8 hours or until meat is tender, stirring occasionally. Serve hot on buns. Makes about 2 cups.Stove-top directions: Combine all ingredients in large sauce pot or Dutch oven; mix well. Bring to boil; reduce heat. Cover and simmer, for 2-1/2 to 3 hours or until mixture thickens and beef is tender, stirring occasionally.
TIP: Beef is be easier to slice when slightly frozen
