Hearty Beef and Barley Soup

Nothing like warm soup on a cold winter day. Homemade soup made easy with the aide of condensed soups.

Beef and Barley Soup

1 pound ground beef
1 cup chopped onions
1 green pepper, seeded and coarsely chopped
2 cups grated carrots
2 (10-3/4 ounce) cans condensed tomato soup
1 (10-3/4 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
2 cups water
1/3 cup barley
salt and pepper to taste

Brown hamburger in large saucepan over medium heat; drain. Stir in remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 1 hour or until barley is tender. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
