This easy to prepare and flavorful meat loaf is made with nutritious oats instead of bread or cracker crumbs.
Old Fashioned Meat Loaf
1/3 cup plus 3 tablespoons ketchup or barbecue sauce
1-1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1-1/2 cups quick-cooking oats
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Heat oven to 350°F. Reserve 3 tablespoons ketchup for topping. In a large bowl, mix together remaining ingredients. Spread mixture in a 9x5x3-inch loaf pan. Bake uncovered 1 to 1-1/4 hours. During last 15 minutes of cook time, spoon and spread reserved ketchup over top of meat loaf. Continue baking until done. 8 servings.
